Alexander Filimonov

Alexander specializes in supporting private equity and venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and intellectual property protection. Over the years of practice, Alexander has advised on dozens of transactions and other complex projects across various industries, including the digital economy and high technologies, industrial production, and real estate.

Alexander received his law degree from the Moscow State Law Academy (1998–2003), where he also completed postgraduate studies and defended his PhD thesis. In 2005, he obtained an MBA from the Russian Foreign Trade Academy of the Ministry of Economic Development. In 2019, he completed training at the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property and qualified as a patent attorney.
Alexander is fluent in English and Spanish.

Alexander is a member of the Expert Council on Regulatory Policy at the ANO Digital Economy.
He also teaches at several higher education institutions, including:
•    Moscow State Law Academy (lecturer, Department of Practical Jurisprudence)
•    MGIMO University (course: “Cross-Border Business Acquisition Transactions”)
•    RANEPA (courses: “Legal Regulation of Corporate Relations” and “Communication and Effective Negotiations in the Legal Business”)
•    ITMO University (course: “Legal Regulation of Private Equity and Venture Capital Transactions”)

In his free time, Alexander plays futsal as a goalkeeper for the Moscow Bar Association team, enjoys cross-country skiing and snowboarding, and reads both professional and fiction literature.
